Every July, Rainy Lake hosts anglers from all over North America to compete in the Fort Frances Canadian Bass Tournament. Rainy Lake is famous for its record-breaking Small Mouth Bass. The event features nightly entertainment and a days long festival environment where fishers are treated to rock stars audiences at the daily weigh ins.
The festival also includes a artisans village featuring crafters of all sorts: painters, potters, felters and carvers. Previous years also included food trucks ands hot dog carts, craft beer tent, “Moose Fun Factory”. On site camping is available. Camping sites are also available at the near by Sioux Narrows Provincial Park.
Includes carnival rides and food stands, horse show, 4-h steer auction, loggers competition, market square, exhibition hall, parade and stock car races.
Tug of war event on place on July 2nd. 1200 ft rope is stretched across the river. 3 events normally take place, the Celebrity pull, the community pull and the power pull. Events are normally followed by a BBQ on both sides of the border and live music.
A Pride Paint Night, led by a special guest drag artist instructor, on Friday, June 16 at the Métis Hall. tickets are $35, and available at the link below
A Pride Breakfast, featuring a traditional opening and honour ceremony, hosted by Giishkaandago’Ikwe Health Services, on Friday, June 16 at the Rainy Lake Square.
