Swimming and Sunsets

All summer long the sandy beach at Point Park is the best place for a family day get away. The beaches gradual slope from shore to deep water makes it the perfect place to learn to swim or wade into the waves. Expect to see lots of space to spread out, nearby playgrounds and picnic tables.

The final dock along the Parkway is designated from swimming. Take one big jump and find yourself submerged in the clear and cool waters at the mouth of the Rainy Lake.

Don’t miss the Rainy Lake Sunsets, from the beach, deck, dock or a stop along the Causeway, these specular year-round expansive sunrises and sunsets are memorable. As the temperatures dip from January to March the Northern Lights are an additional treat.

Skating

All winter long the Memorial Sportsplex provides open indoor skating hours available to the public. Fort Frances also has multiple outdoor rinks through out the community available for use anytime.

The Lakers Junior Hockey

From September to March check out the schedule and see if you can grab a seat at Fort Frances Junior A hockey team game. Fast, fun and young, every game is an experience.

Bog Walk

Head out to Reef Point Road just a few minutes east of Fort Frances to take advantage of 8.5 km loop of groomed walking trails through the boreal forest, see eagles, deer and a wide variety of birds. This hike considered an easy route and takes an average of 1 h 42 min to complete.

Walking Trails

Fort Frances is a great place to stage your hiking vacation. Inside the community the 8th Street trail system that provides you with options for your tour from 1 to 7 km.

Fort Frances Curling Club

Fort Frances Curling Club is situated on the Ontario Minnesota border and promotes the love of life long curling!
